Garland's best-selling grammar book was printed at least twenty-seven times in England between 1496 and 1518. Plenty of editions and few surviving copies testify to the work's popularity. Modern scholars digging into the contents of this Medieval Latin vocabulary used so extensively in the early English Renaissance can uncover the uses and meanings of Neolatin terms during the hundreds of years when Latin was still a living language.
