Additional Details

The subject of this photograph is also referred to as Ki-e-te-day, A Laguna Maiden (New Mexico). She is draped in a Navajo blanket and wearing a squash blossom silver necklace.

This study depicts the same Indian girl, from the same sitting, as the more commonly known image entitled "Loti" (also called "Laguna Girl"), in which the subject is holding the large round vessel under one arm. The "Loti" image is often seen printed with the bottom cropped off so that the subject is shown from mid-thigh; however the original negative is a full-length shot, just like "Comacita."
