"In March 1984, Haring had painted a mural for the Walker Art Center's new Education Center while he was an artist in residence in Minneapolis. He taught painting courses for children and drew the poster for the opening ceremony in May. He presented the Walker Art Center with the design for the poster. The poster was meant to be colored in" (Haring p. 109).
