Johnson, and the Special Committee to Select Five Outstanding Senators [chaired by him in 1957]. The doodles, including one at upper right, with tiny signature near its lower edge, showing a fenced enclosure for horses beside a tree and in the background, a shimmering lake on which two sailboats glide as a floatplane approaches; and below this, another doodle showing a lone horse in profile; and in lower left corner is a lightly sketched outline of a tree. 1 page, 4to; staple holes and creases at upper right corner. (SFC) Np, 1959

On January 20, 1959 Senator John F. Kennedy introduced to the Senate a labor reform bill with Senator Sam Ervin which, though never enacted, contributed to a significant extent the elements of the labor bill which became law as the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act in September of that year.
