John F. Kennedy needs no introduction today, but in 1946 he did. Here is an elaborate flier from Kennedy's first political campaign, when he successfully ran for the United States House of Representatives at the age of 29. Folded, the cover features a portrait of Kennedy with the caption "Remember this man when you go to vote on Tuesday, June 18." It opens up to a two-panel campaign platform and illustrations promising "Better housing, more industry, a busier port, improved airport." It then opens to a full four-panel campaign poster with testimonials (illustrated). possibly unique; no other copies found in auction records or WorldCat.
