Fuji, street scenes of Yokohama and Nagasaki, geishas and other genre scenes including an orange merchant, and warriors. Hand-colored mounted albumen prints, each approximately 8x10 1/4 inches (20.3x26 cm.), and the reverse, most with a caption, in English, on a typed label below the image area, and many with an inventory number and a few with an additional caption, in English, in the negative. Oblong folio, elaborate black lacquer covers depicting 3 male figures in a vignetted fan shape and other embellishments, with ivory inlay and gilt highlights; leather backstrip, partially detached from text block; all edges gilt. 1880s
