Lavish album with 60 occupational scenes, including geishas at repose and practicing ceremonies, vendors of fans and fabric, craftsmen and wrestlers. Hand-colored mounted albumen prints, each approximately 7 3/4x10 1/4 to 8 1/2x11 inches (19.7x26 to 21.6x27.9 cm.), and the reverse, most with the original tissue guards, many with a caption, in English, and an inventory number in the negative. Oblong folio, red lacquer covers with a floral design, gilt highlights and gilt-lettered leather backstrip, front cover partially detached and the backstrip partially perished and detached; with Kimbei's purple oval hand stamp on the front pastedown; all edges gilt.
