Based on the Mitchell model, Kitchin's mapping of North America first appeared at the close of the French and Indian War and was variously issued in different formats and publications until the early 1780's. The present issue published during the Revolutionary War is quite scarce with fewer than five institutional copies located and only two appearances in modern auction records.
