Signed "Hilary Knight" in ink on the zebra rug lower left. Matted. Best known as the creator with Kay Thompson of the irrepressible Eloise who lives at the Plaza Hotel, Hilary Knight is one of the most versatile of modern American commercial artists. He has been a prolific magazine and book illustrator and is still working today at 96. He designed many theater posters, record album covers, greeting cards and worked on several advertising campaigns. Nd, c. 1960
