A poem in honor of New York's District Assembly 49, which had scandalized the city of Richmond, VA by bringing an African-American delegate to the 1886 Knights of Labor convention. "When the autumn leaves were falling / And the sun had crossed the line / There came to old Virginia / Noble District 49." Issued by District Assembly 73 of Massachusetts.
