Goauche and pen and ink on buff wove paper, 1911. 335x440 mm; 13¼x17½ inches. Signed, dated and inscribed in ink, lower right. Numerous set sketches, with numerical notations, in pencil on the verso. Overall handling creases and folds.

During 1910-11, Korovin was chief artist to the Imperial Theater in Moscow, while teaching at the Moscow College. His early theatre designs often reflected Impressionist techniques and were exhibited internationally during his lifetime.
