KOVERT, FRED (1901-1950) Binder containing 57 unmounted photographs by Kovert of iconic bodybuilders and nude musclemen, with multiple images of Dale Curry, Gene Meyer, and Johnny Miller, as well as many unidentified models. Silver prints, 51 measure 9 1/2x7 1/2 inches (24.1x19.1 cm.), and slightly smaller, and 6 measure 4 1/4x3 1/4 inches (10.8x8.3 cm.); nearly all with the notation "KoVert," in pencil, and more than 10 with the model's name, in an unknown hand, on print verso, one with an Athletic Model Guild hand stamp and a few with a partial KoVert of Hollywood hand stamp; 18 with a later, photostatic copy of the image and handwritten notations indicating in which magazine or Kovert catalog the study appeared.
