First held in 1932 in Tel Aviv, the Maccabi Games, similar to the Olympics, featured thirteen countries and 300 hundred athletes. It was intended to foster physical education, belief in Jewish heritage and a Jewish nation. Today it is a quadrennial event with thousands of participants. Here, a stylized image of a young man waving a Jewish flag against a blue sky, with the city of Tel-Aviv in orange.
