First edition, limited issue, large octavo; copy A of 85 deluxe, signed copies on Japon, from a total run of 435; additionally signed by Thompson below the photographic portrait frontispiece and inscribed by him to Charles Dana Burrage "to the best of friends" in ink on the second engraved portrait; bound in full reddish purple morocco, ruled and decorated in gilt, morocco turn-ins over green doublures ruled and gilt-stamped with flowers, cream moire silk endleaves, all edges gilt (offsetting from frontispiece to title, small area of toning to margin of pp 20-21; spine a touch darkened but otherwise lovely); in the matching slipcase; 9 1/2 x 6 1/4 in.
