La Monte Westmoreland is a Los Angeles-based collage artist, receiving a MA and MFA in collage and assemblage from California State University, Los Angeles. His Kabuki with Uncle Ben Series "projects [his] wry sense of humor and exposes social issues which are layered with political satire, complimented by [his] use of pop icon imagery," according to the artist. His works can be found in the collections of Dr. Samella Lewis, California African American Museum, and the Museum of African-American Art, Austin.
