In 1930, still enthralled by the constantly evolving artistic style and stylization of his mentor and keeping in lock-step with any innovations that Colin brought to his own easel, Chassaing designed these two posters. Although reminiscent of at least two of Colin's posters (see Simone Dulac and Marguerite Jamois, Colin. P. 74, nos. 77, 78), Chassaing has adhered to his caricature style, and added a further touch of daring in his cubist play with faces. He displays his ties to realism by depicting both heads on necks, as opposed to Colin's free-floating faces. His palette is far less realistic than Colin's, giving the faces a bizarre look. In fact, Kerlor and La Regia (both totally forgotten as performers) look so much alike that one can imagine they are one and the same performer. These two posters are good examples of Colin's influence on younger artists.
