Autograph Note Signed, "Lafeyette," to Mr. Perreil[?], forwarding a letter addressed to Lafayette, written in the letter's blank lower margin on the last page, in French: "I send to Mr. Perreil the letter of Mr. Hay, equally respectable for his age, service, and personal qualities." The letter, by Colonel of the Guards of Paris Hay, written in French from Paris on November 26, 1790, appeals to Lafayette for support in obtaining a decoration--the Cross of St. Louis--and recounts highlights from his 26 years of service to the King. 3 pages, 4to, written on a folded sheet; faint scattered foxing; matted in a double-sided frame.
