Additional Details

In its original issue in 1901 by Landis & Alsop, the map was surrounded by vignettes of local businesses and manufacturers. The present example was re-issued by Binghamton realtor, Hotchkin, as an advertising vehicle. Hotchkin's issue eliminates the earlier vignettes but includes an extensive street directory at the lower margin. Hotchkin also includes an advertisement for his own business at the upper left. The approximate date is taken from a small inset map of "Greater Binghampton in 1903" below Hotchkin's ad. Reps 2447 (1901 edition.)
