As Larry's popularity as a portrait artist grew, he developed a fan base amongst other artists and writers. This painting portrays the Poets, Donald Britton and Dennis Cooper. Tragically, Donald Britton, in the background, lost his life in 1994 due to complications from the AIDS virus, having only published one book of poems in his lifetime, Italy, 1981. Dennis Cooper has published several short stories, two books of poetry, and is the founder of Little Caesar Magazine, and Little Caesar Press. Cooper was also a contributor to Between C and D the Lower East Side literary magazine (see lots 184 and 185).
