" . . . Immediately on its receipt I wrote to Prof. McCullok then in New York, to relieve you of all trouble in packing & forwg the books which you kindly presented to Washington College. In case he did not receive my letter, I will now write to Mr. C. B. Richardson, Publisher in New York to employ an experienced packer to forward the articles. I shall regret very much should you be detained in Brooklyn by any delay on the part of those gentlemen, & request that in that event that you will direct some merchant of your acquaintance to forward the articles you design for the College & to send the bills of cost to me at Lexington . . ."<
