The presentation copy described in Wolff includes Paget's inscription that "This first edition of Hauntings is extremely valuable - far more than the book itself, alas! - because almost immediately after printing the whole edition (i.e. all except author's and press copies) was burnt in a warehouse"--Wolff 5375.
