LENA SCOTT HARRIS (1873-1956) Group of approximately 65 hand-colored botanical studies, all apparently California native plants. Hand-colored silver prints, the images measuring approximately 11x8 inches (27.9x20.3 cm.), double mounted, the larger 14x11 inches (35.6x27.9 cm.), 36 with Harris' signature in ink on print recto, all but four with a typed label identifying the floral specimen on mount recto, and each with her stamp on mount verso. Circa 1930s
Provenance: From the Estate of Richard T. Rosenthal, Philadelphia
Harris was born in Iowa, but settled in Los Angeles by 1905 and died there.
