The Belgians organized two fairs to help commemorate the centennial of their independence from Dutch rule. In Liege, they organized an exhibition of Science, Industry and traditional Walloon Art. In Antwerp, the exhibition was of Colonial, Maritime and old Flemish Art. Marfurt, one of the most successful and well-regarded designers in Belgium between the wars, designed several posters for the exhibitions. This, one of at least three for the Antwerp exhibition, is the most modernist and Art Deco in its design. Dutch version.
