Organized to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, "this event's signature poster - an image of an attractive Wahine holding a pair of wreaths - was designed by Leonard Mitchell, also a leading painter and stamp designer at the time. His poster was in striking Art Deco style, possibly influenced by Chicago's 1933 World Fair" (New Zealand p. 353).
