Group of approximately 77 35mm slides of the 1968 "The Boys in the Band" Off-Broadway play.
35mm color slides, the images measuring approximately 35x25 mm; 1⅜x1 inches (3.5x2.5 cm.), and the reverse, the mounts 51 mm; 2 inches square, each with Kamsler's copyright stamp with date 1979, and a few with additional an notation in pencil. 1968; processed 1979.

Accompanied by the March 1969 cover of the magazine Medical World News which chose an image of the hit play to illustrate its headline entitled "The homosexual patient, no longer a hidden problem."

The 1968 Off-Broadway play The Boys in the Band by Mart Crowley was groundbreaking for its portrayal of gay life. Two years later, Crowley's screenplay was put in motion under the direction of William Friedkin and starring the original 1968 Off-Broadway cast. This movie is among the early major American motion pictures to revolve around gay characters and often cited as a milestone in the history of gay cinema.
