number 81 of 300 copies initialed by poiret and containing 3 plates on Japan paper. First edition of one of the great works by collaborators Lepape and Poiret. The enormously popular spring/summer 2007 exhibition of Poiret at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was the largest assemblage of his work in more than 30 years. Considered the father of modern fashion, Poiret shunned the confines of corsets and stormed the Paris fashion scene with unconstructed dresses in bold colors. Lepape and Paul Iribe, already well-known, hit their stride by collaborating with Poiret on advertising, package design, and fashion illustration. Colas 1837; Monod 9205.
