"In 1951, Beall was retained, through J. Walter Thompson, on the United States Lines Company account developing all of the promotional material for the ocean liner United States. For four years he designed posters, menus, cocktail napkins, linens and everything else that required graphic treatment" (Beall p. 72). Beall designed at least 6 posters for the United States Lines, each with a crisp, efficient, modern graphic treatment, and realized with a contemporary dynamic vision.
