One in the series of at least 6 posters Beall designed for the United States Lines, each crisp, efficient and modern graphic treatment. Here he uses an image very familiar to connoisseurs of 1930s shipping posters, the funnels of the ship, as depicted by both A. M. Cassandre and Paul Colin. Yet he adds his contemporary dynamic vision in that the funnels are tilted at an angle that indicates speed, as well as the looping arrow, which both isolates the text and further implies speed.
