Meeser (1864-1942) was born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. She studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Art Students League and the Worcester Art Museum, Massachusetts. She was an early member of the Cape Cod art community, having set up her studio and gallery in Wellfleet, Massachusetts in 1905, and was a member of and exhibited frequently at the Provincetown Art Association. She was also a founder of the Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors, a fellow of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and a member of the American Federation of the Arts.
