Additional Details

One of the more interesting of the Emancipation Proclamations. This version shows a full-length portrait of Lincoln in the center; his right hand on the manuscript of the Proclamation, his left, held to his hip. Behind him, in cursive script is the entire Proclamation, wreathed above with the American Eagle, Justice and a slave with the American flag to his left; below the Proclamation is a floral wreath border. Eberstadt, #45
