Additional Details

In July of 1931, Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh embarked from New York on a tour of Asia in their Lockheed Sirius plane. They made a few stops before arriving in Nanjing, where they discovered a natural disaster caused by severe flooding of the Yangtzee River. The Lindberghs remained for some time, while Charles made aerial photographic surveys of the damage and delivered supplies to remote villages. In October, the Lindberghs flew to Shanghai, where they ended their tour.
