Additional Details

"I said I did not have enough knowledge of the Alaskan situation to offer detailed advice, but that they had experts among them on whom they could rely for such advice. I emphasized the disastrous effects motor vehicles were having on game animals by giving hunters easy access to areas that were very difficult to reach in the past.
The single definite recommendation I made was that ground and air vehicles not be used (legislation) as gun platforms for sport shooting. I recommended reconsideration of the bounty system, and its possible abandonment in view of its abandonment in other areas where it has been proven undesirable and in many ways destructive. I also emphasized the importance of regulations to keep the polar-bear kill within the reproduction rate."
