Additional Details

From the Collection of Scott MacPhee.
Link considered this to be one of the best photographs he ever took, due to the technical difficulty required to capture the elevated train. (The bridge pictured in this photograph was washed out a year after the image was taken.) This photograph is accompanied by Link's handwritten note, on what appears to be the backboard to the original frame, which touches on "a long long tale of woe"--Link's unsuccessful attempt to buy the entire 55 miles and 105 bridges of the Abingdon Branch before it closed down.
