Roman type. 4 illuminated initials in colors and gold on a2r, c4r (with additional floral decoration in lower margin), 2a1v, and A1r; red and blue initials with penwork decoration in green throughout. Folio, 331x220 mm, later 17th-century mottled calf with gilt arms of Charles Spencer, third Earl of Sunderland (1674-1722), rebacked; mostly minor browning in middle of volume, late 19th-century owner's provenance note on Admiralty stationery tipped to front free endpaper; red edges. Early ownership inscription of the Bamberg Franciscan Monastery of St. Anna; Sunderland shelfmark and Althorp bookplate; sold in the Blenheim Palace sale at Puttick & Simpson, 25 July 1882, lot 7453).
