This large and colorful painting is a charming view of the marina at Théoule-sur-Mer in the Alpes-Maritimes (A.M.), the scenic small port in this resort on the French Riviera. Jones painted many such colorful landscapes around the region of the Alpes-Maritimes. Cabris, the hill-top village and hometown of her close friend Céline Tabary, is also in the Alpes-Maritimes. Jones and her husband Pierre-Noël were married in Cabris in 1953. Jones originally visited the area in 1937 during her first year of studies in Paris, and returned numerous times over a period of some 50 years.
