Additional Details

first edition, first printing of london's first book, with all points correct: first issue with tipped-in frontispiece (later issues with frontispiece sewn in); first issue with comma after the year on copyright page (later issues have punctuation corrected with a period); and with extra blank at end, as in the LOC copy, indicating one of the earliest bound copies. First printing was only 2028 copies. An exceptionally nice example of London's first novel. BAL 11869; Sisson & Martens, p. 1.
