A few versions (e. g., Armenian, "Brazilian," Sardinian, Aethiopian) were never filled in. According to a note on the front flyleaf, "This book was bound in Charleston, S.C., in 1855. Some of the manuscript was written by Abbas, a Maronite, and Guriel[?] a Chaldean but most of it by Roth, a priest of Westphalia. The Chinese portion is from Rev. Dr. Leang a Chinese priest."
