This poster was commissioned by the French Lottery for one of their many special events, the Grand Prix of Paris, one of the major events in the racing season in Longchamp. Predictably, Colin depicts the green turf and the galloping horses, but he adds the ingenious touch of representing the spectators as numbers. Curiously two different versions of the finalized poster exist; printed by different printing houses, one features 5 racing horses and the other 6. Also in each of the two versions (both different sizes) all of the numbers are different! One of Colin's classic creations. Colin no. 177.
