Additional Details

Lou Stoumen's portfolio entitled "Forty Years" covers the photographer's long career and the portfolio is in excellent condition. The images are bright and clean with great tonality.

The images are overall in excellent condition with only two prints, "Old Man, Boy Soldier" and "Times Square in the Rain", with small specks of unobtrusive professional retouching.

The margins and versos of the prints are overall bright and clean. Two prints ("The Lovers" and "Storm" with very faint rippling at the edges from the drying of the print, not entering the image area.

Each print with Stoumen's signature, in ink, on recto, and the portfolio title and edition notation 3/50, in pencil, in an unknown hand, on verso.

Each print is enclosed in a folder with the printed title, extended caption, print number, and negative date on the interior. The folders are bright and clean.

The colophon is clean with a few soft handling marks and a rub in the upper right corner from the case.

The black metal portfolio box with a silver label. The box is in near excellent condition with a few rubs.
