Louis Delsarte is a well-known contemporary painter and muralist who incorporates both realist and surrealist imagery in his figurative works. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1944, he earned a B.F.A. from Pratt Institute in 1977. He has been honored as artist in residence at the Studio Museum in Harlem, Howard University in Washington, DC, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, Bob Blackburn's Printmaking Workshop, NY, Towson University in Maryland, The Experimental Printmaking Institute at Lafayette College, Arts Exchange in Atlanta, GA, Brandywine Printmaking Workshop in Philadelphia, PA, and The Faculty Resource Network at New York University. Delsarte's work can be found in many public and private collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Corcoran Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale Museum, Kansas City Art Museum, The Camille Hanks Cosby Museum, Spelman College, Atlanta, GA, The Paul Jones Collection, University of Delaware, The Hammond House Museum, Atlanta, and New York University.
