Tom Lovell was a highly successful contributor to the pulp fiction and slick magazines. He served in the Marine Corps Reserves during World War II, and contributed to the USMC magazine, The Leatherneck. He devoted his later years to depicting Native and other Western subjects. He ventured into advertising such as providing the art for print ads like the Aluminum Limited that appeared in various magazines, including The Atlantic in June 1959. 1959
