Dupee, at whose home Lowell and his second wife, Elizabeth Hardwick, spent their honeymoon: "For Fred,/'Sunt aliquid manes,'/with love and gratitude/from,/Cal." The quote is from Sextus Propertius and is roughly translated as "The spirits do exist." One of 250 unnumbered copies of Lowell's first book.
