Provenance: collection of the artist; thence by descent to the Loïs Mailou Jones Pierre-Noël Trust.

Jones painted many colorful landscapes around the sunny and craggy hills of this picturesque medieval town. Cabris is in the Alpes Maritimes of the south of France and was the hometown of her close friend Céline Tabary, and where Jones and Pierre-Noël married in 1953. She originally visited the town in 1937 during her first year of studies in Paris, and returned numerous times over a period of some 50 years.
