Engraving, circa 1507. 283x201 mm; 11¼x8 inches, thread margins. A very good New Hollstein a impression, with the horizontal polishing scratches. Small jug with a quatrefoil watermark (New Hollstein 1a). A superb, dark and early impression of this large, scarce print.
According to Kok (New Hollstein), the early impression in Amsterdam has the same watermark. We have found only 13 other impressions at auction in the past 20 years. Bartsch 25; Volbehr 24; New Hollstein 25.
