LUCIAN BERNHARD (1883-1972) AMOCO / AMERICAN GAS / SCIENCE MARCHES ON! Circa 1950. 42 1/4x26 1/4 inches, 107x67 cm. Condition A. Bernhard moved to the United States in 1925 and did extensive typographic work for the American Type Founders company. He also continued to do a lot of advertising work in which he essentially provided the services of a typographer. Post-World War II examples of his corporate typographic posters include Rem (cough drops), Pepsi, and Amoco, whose logo he redesigned and then created posters with a number of variants.
