Additional Details

One of a pair of Corcos family scenes for the Life magazine article juxtaposing the family's summer life in their Fire Island home with their main residence in Rockland County, New York. The intricate scene shows a cutaway of their house, with numerous vignettes showing the family gathered in the living room, a jaunt in their Army Jeep, Lucille and husband, Edgar Levy (the noted American artist), in their respective painting studios, and the boys playing ball with their dog and friends outside. Nestled in a thriving artistic community, the Corcos home often entertained neighbors Maxwell Anderson, Kurt Weill, Lotte Lenya, John Houseman, Henry Varnam Poor, Bessie Breuer, Helen Hayes, Charles MacArthur, and Burgess Meredith, among others.
