LUDWIG HOHLWEIN (1874-1949) HERBST IN WIESBADEN. Circa 1930. 33x22 inches. Bruckmann, Munich. Condition A: matted and framed. Hohlwein designed several travel posters for Germany based on the seasons, but this one may have given him particular pleasure as he was a Wiesbaden native. In 1926, poster art, under the influence of Hohlwein, was described to have grown "and thrived and today stands before us, gleaming, smiling, radiating happiness and contentment" (Hohlwein p. 37).
