An elegant, quiet, even peaceful image of a couple enjoying the waning light of a summer's day in Germany. In the 1920s, one of Hohlwein's recognizable design traits was to create a sense of depth in his posters by using a warm-colored background and a dark, colder color in the foreground. This also helped highlight individual characters or groups of figures within his designs. this exceptionally rare version features the woman half-turned towards the viewer. most versions of this image depict the woman completely turned away from the viewer. It is not known why the artist designed two versions of the same poster. The text at the bottom here also varies from the other version, "Summer in Germany / Means a Wonderful Holiday."
