This t-shirt features the infamous photograph from Benglis' (born 1941) legendary advertisement that ran in the November 1974 issue of Artforum. The bold and subversive imagery sparked a controversy, eliciting extreme criticism as well as veneration. The advertisement opened a dialogue about women in art and reflected the greater sexual revolution happening at the time.
