"Texas Prison Film Frame" * "Valley Auction" (a young cowboy). Together, 2 photographs. Silver prints, the first a double-frame film still measuring 6 3/8x4 3/8 inches (16.2x11.1 cm.), with Lyon's signature, title, date, inscription to Thomas Garver, and the notation "Printed on one 'Garver Enlarger' warm October afternoon Llanito New Mexico," along with his dotted and color-blocked embellishments, all in ink, on recto; the second measuring 6 1/4x9 1/4 inches (15.9x23.5 cm.), with Lyon's title and dotted embellishments, in ink, on recto, and with a letter from Lyon to the artist Douglas Davis, including his signature, in ink, taped to verso, also including the original mailing envelope. 1968 and 1975; each printed 1970s

The letter reads, in part: "There is nothing as pretty as a young Angus steer eating the fresh valley grass. Too bad the price of cattle is the lowest in all time. I took this picture with a Leica camera, on Tri-X film and then I let it in the trunk of my car for two hours in the hot sun before I developed it."
